Advanced Muscle Integration Technique

This is a form of musculoskeletal therapy that was developed by Dr. Alan Beardall in the 1970s and 1980s. Dr. Beardall was the official Olympic Chiropractor for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. He unfortunately died in a motor vehicle collision while teaching a seminar in England in 1987.

His work is now being taught by Dr. Craig Buhler who was the team chiropractic physician for the National Basketball Association's Utah Jazz for 24 years. During his tenure with the Jazz he was instrumental in helping create the lowest 'Player Missed Games due to Injury Rate' of any team in the NBA. Dr. Buhler has also treated numerous Olympic Gold Medalists and world class skiers, snow boarders, ice skaters.

Dr. Beardall was known for saying, "You should never treat the same thing twice. If you find the same problem recurring, then you have missed something and you need to dig deeper into the body's systems for the answer as to why your treatment did not hold."

It is our experience at Back to Health Wellness Center that AMIT gets to the cause of pain in joint and muscle dysfunctions. Pain is the body's 'communication system' and is an indication something may be wrong. We discovered years ago the primary cause of joint and muscle pain is the result of muscles and or joints that have been injured in some way. When a muscle is injured, the nerve centers where the muscle attaches to the bone inhibit the muscle to protect it from major damage or tearing. The muscle will still contract during motion, but if the muscle is stressed it will give way due to the pain response at these nerve centers. If joints are injured they will inhibit muscles that cross or are attached to the joint. In either scenario you end up with muscles that are turned off and are not functioning as they are designed to. Then, other muscles have to adapt to take over the loss of muscle function. At the unconscious level the body avoids using the injured muscle and our pain goes away. As time passes more and more muscles become injured and inhibited. Eventually the ability to adapt from muscles that do not work efficiently is lost and chronic pain occurs.

Dr. Beardall developed 310 separate muscle strength tests to evaluate the integrity of almost every muscle in the body. He then created a system of treatment that integrated diverse disciplines ranging from chiropractic, acupuncture, myofascial therapy, nutrition, cranial sacral therapy, and visceral organ, lymphatic and vascular reflex points into a gestalt that reestablished the integrity of the involved muscle. Again it is our experience that unless there is pathology, eg. a torn tendon, ligament or muscle, AMIT corrections hold and the body no longer has to adapt to the inhibited muscles.

MISSION STATEMENT:

OUR MISSION IS TO ACCELERATE HEALING TO MAXIMIZE FUNCTION AND HUMAN PERFORMANCE BY INTEGRATING THE STRUCTURAL, CHEMICAL AND ELECTROMAGNETIC SYSTEMS OF THE BODY. WE PREDICT AND PREVENT INJURIES BY DEFINING VULNERABILITIES THROUGH AN INNATE INTELLIGENCE GUIDED SYSTEMS APPROACH TO ASSESSMENT, DIAGNOSIS AND THERAPY.

AMIT Corrections are not covered by insurance and presently we are charging $35.00/ muscle. The chiropractic aspect of your visit can be billed to your insurance if they cover this service.
